How to apply for student lettings or a residential home
We want to make the process of securing your Bangor student pad as easy and straightforward as possible, so we’ve put together some student letting advice and a few notes on how we work with you to make the viewing and booking procedure as smooth as possible. If you’re on the hunt for some residential accommodation this advice will still prove useful for finding your perfect home.
1 View a home that you like the look of on our website and watch the available Video Tour if the property has one. Once you have decided you like the look of the property then get in touch with us through our Contact page and give us details of the property you wish to view.
2 Attend a viewing with a member of our Lettings team, who will take you on a tour of the property, providing valuable insight and answering any questions you may have.
3 Follow our reservation steps to the letter, details of which can be found on the page Reserving your Varcity Living home.
4 Finally, you must sign a legally binding Occupation Contract, providing information which will help to determine whether or not your application is accepted. You can find out details on how to apply on our FAQ’s page.

If you’re concerned about how you apply for your residential or student letting then there’s no need to fear. We will help to make the viewing and booking process simple and carefree. First of all, you need to make sure that the property you are interested in has the number of bedrooms you require. We have accommodation to suit a wide range of needs so be sure to explore our entire range. With the exception of studios, only one person can be allocated to a room; therefore, if there are four of you looking to share a property, you will need to make sure there are four bedrooms in the property.
If you or any of your housemates have a car it is also a good idea to consider if there is space for you to park nearby. Some of our properties do come with parking space(s) included and if this is the case it will be stated clearly in the property description.

A Video Tour is a walk-through of a property, where you are guided in a first-person perspective and shown every aspect of what could be your future home. This includes everything from radiators to bedside tables, so that our customers know exactly what the property entails.
You can book a Virtual Viewing with a member of our team if you are unable to attend the property in person, for example if you live in another country. These Virtual Viewings are online viewings whereby a member of our team hosts a video call on an application that suits you and talks you through the Video Tour. They will provide you with essential information and answer any questions you may have.

We encourage all our prospective occupants to watch the Video Tours for each property they like and book in viewings for any that pique their interest. Get in touch to book a viewing.
Of course you can, however it is sometimes difficult to organise multiple viewings for the same day as many of our properties are occupied. For this reason we recommend only viewing properties that really fit your criteria and that you are serious about. Our team can answer any questions you have in advance of any viewings if you’re uncertain.
When you decide to take the property you will need to follow the steps outlined here:
- Each occupant is to pay an equal amount towards the holding deposit, which will take the property off the market for 7 days. You can make this payment via our website or by bank transfer. The holding deposit will form part of your security deposit but is non-refundable at this point if you fail to complete a Occupation Contract.
- Select a Lead Occupant, who will be responsible for managing the deposit and ensuring all the right information is in place.
- Contact your guarantors and ensure they are UK residents who can guarantee your rental payments should you fail to make them.
- Complete the online property application form.
- Ensure your guarantors have received and signed their electronic guarantor form.
- Pay the full deposit. This will be equivalent to four weeks of rent minus your holding deposit. This will be protected in an approved deposit protection scheme.
- Sign your Occupation Contract, which will be emailed to you for you to sign online.
- Congratulations! You’ve just secured your new home.
